New chapters will be added to develop the world-famous paragliding site Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh, India. Asia’s first paragliding training School or Institute is going to be started in Bir Billing. Bir Billing is the world’s best and second-highest paragliding site. The government paragliding training school is situated at the foothills of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range and provides the perfect environment and situation for paragliding studies.
Rs. 12 crores is being spent on this school, starting in April. Training will be given by officially trained paraglider pilots who will teach the youth. The start of the paragliding school will boost the tourism system here, and this field will get more international recognition with the start of the school.
Paraglider pilots who are fond of paragliding from India and abroad will be able to take paragliding training in the government sector. Certificates will be given to those who take this training. Modern facilities will be available in the first paragliding school in Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh. Arrangements will be made to accommodate guest faculty in this institute, from conference to classroom, and all facilities will be provided. Apart from Solo and Tandem paragliding training, the paragliding rescue course can also be taken.
Foundation History of the Government Paragliding training School in Bir Billing
The announcement was made in 2015. The information about the National Paragliding School in Bir Billing was provided by Himachal Pradesh State Minister Virbhadra Singh immediately after the conclusion of the first Paragliding World Cup in 2015. The school campus is located in the Gram Panchayat of Bir and is spread over 14 Kanals of land. An amount of 12 crores is being spent on its construction, of which 9 crores have been given by the central government for the building and 3 crores for the equipment of the Himachal Pradesh Government.
Its construction work is in full swing after the completion of the construction work in March. It is expected that the Chief Minister will inaugurate it at the end of March or in April. There is no government organization for paragliding coaching schools in India. It will be the first school in Asia where people from India and abroad will take paragliding training, and their certification will also be issued. After certification, they will be able to participate in international competitions and can also start their own businesses.
